The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18.

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. John 12:24.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Psalms 51:17.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1.
